The Cortacesped BCMW3336L1-QW is a battery powered rotary lawnmower from BLACK+DECKER. It runs on a 36V 2.5Ah battery and cuts a 33cm width path. The deck is built from metal and finished in the brand's familiar orange and black colour scheme.
Cutting height adjusts between 25mm and 65mm across 5 positions, so short or longer grass can both be managed. No assembly is required out of the box, which means less setup time before first use.
At 14.76kg, the mower is light enough to manoeuvre around borders and tight corners. It comes with a user manual and is backed by a 2 year guarantee from BLACK & DECKER.
The 33 cm cutting width makes this machine a good fit for small to medium gardens. Customer reports suggest a single charge can cover around 100 to 120 square metres, though this depends on grass length and thickness. One reviewer with a 400 square metre garden managed to cut most of it on one charge using mulching mode, running for roughly 25 minutes before needing a recharge. If your garden is on the larger side, a spare battery would help you finish the job in one go rather than waiting for a recharge mid-task.
The mower runs on a 36V 2.5Ah battery. Based on feedback from owners, runtime varies quite a bit depending on grass height and how damp the lawn is. Some users report shorter sessions when cutting longer grass, while others managed a full 25-minute run in mulching mode. It's worth timing your first few cuts to understand how far your battery goes on your specific lawn, since thicker grass will drain it faster than a well-maintained one.
This model weighs 14.76kg, which is light for a metal-bodied rotary mower. Several reviewers specifically mention how easy it is to push around tight corners and flower beds. One owner noted the mower "comes wirklich überall hin" (gets everywhere) thanks to its light frame. If you've got a garden with awkward angles or narrow side passages, this lighter build should make those areas less of a chore.
You get 5 cutting height positions, ranging from 25 mm up to 65 mm. This range lets you switch between a close, tidy cut for a formal lawn look or a longer cut that's better for drought resistance and root health. Adjusting height is straightforward and doesn't require any tools, so you can change settings between seasons or as grass conditions shift.
No assembly is required. The mower arrives ready to use straight out of the box, with only the user manual included alongside the unit. This saves you the hassle of fitting handles or attaching cutting decks before your first mow. Just charge the battery, check the cutting height setting and you're good to go.
This mower comes with a 2 year guarantee from BLACK+DECKER. That's standard for most of their garden power tools and covers manufacturing defects. Keep your proof of purchase handy, as you'll need it if you ever need to make a claim within that period.
This is a common point of confusion among buyers. According to one customer review, the batteries used in this mower are not interchangeable with all other BLACK+DECKER garden tools. Before assuming you can share batteries across your existing BLACK+DECKER kit, check the specific battery platform compatibility for each tool you own, as BLACK+DECKER runs multiple battery systems across their product range.
One reviewer mentioned a recharge time of under 2 hours for a full battery, which let them finish mowing a 400 square metre garden in two sessions with a short break in between. This is a reasonably quick turnaround if you need to tackle a bigger lawn in stages rather than waiting half a day between cuts.
