Does the OcuMow 16 need boundary wire installation?

No boundary wire is required. The mower uses a High Dynamic Range camera and ultrasonic sensors to detect grass edges and navigate automatically. Your lawn must have hard borders such as paving, gravel, decking, or raised edges at least 6cm high around the full perimeter. The system is not suitable for gardens with overhanging plants, undefined flower borders, or drop-off edges.

How long does the battery last and how quickly does it charge?

The 24V 4.0Ah lithium-ion battery provides up to 4 hours of continuous mowing time. The included fast charger completes a full charge in just 1 hour. The detachable battery can be charged indoors, eliminating the need for outdoor power sockets. Battery life depends on grass conditions and terrain difficulty.

What size lawn can the OcuMow 16 handle effectively?

The mower is designed for lawns up to 150m² in size. On smaller lawns around 50m², it typically completes mowing in approximately 2 hours. The random cutting pattern ensures complete coverage over time. For larger areas, you may need multiple mowing sessions or consider using it on different lawn sections separately.

How close to lawn edges does the mower cut?

The mower stops approximately 15-20cm from lawn edges for safety reasons. This means you'll need a grass trimmer to maintain neat edges around your lawn perimeter. Lawnmaster produces compatible MX 24V grass trimmers that can use the same battery system, making edge maintenance convenient and cost-effective.

Can the mower handle slopes and uneven terrain?

Yes, the OcuMow 16 handles slopes up to 35% (19°) thanks to its deep tread wheels and powerful drive system. The 6.6kg weight provides good traction without being too heavy for the terrain. However, very soft or muddy ground may cause the mower to struggle or create wheel marks during wet conditions.

What happens if the mower encounters obstacles or people?

The camera and ultrasonic sensors detect obstacles, pets and people, causing the mower to stop immediately and navigate around them. If the mower is lifted during operation, sensors automatically stop the blade for safety. A child safety key prevents unauthorised use and the mower will only operate when this key is properly inserted.

How does the spot cut function work?

The spot cut function uses a spiral cutting pattern to target specific areas with longer grass or missed patches. Position the mower on the problem area and activate spot cut mode using the control panel. The mower cuts in expanding circles until the area is properly maintained, then you can return it to normal auto-mow mode.

Is the OcuMow 16 suitable for all garden types?

The mower works best on lawns with clearly defined hard borders and minimal overhanging vegetation. It's not suitable for gardens with undefined flower borders, overhanging plants that obscure lawn edges, or areas with drop-offs. Some lawn edge adjustment may be required before first use. The mower performs best in dry conditions on grass that's not excessively long.
